Mary Jane Armstrong McGuire, 89, of Mount Pleasant, SC died, Sunday, December 17, 2017. Born in Honea Path, South Carolina to the late James Otis and Mary Curtis Harper Armstrong. Mary Jane was a graduate of Furman University. A loyal loving wife and wonderful tireless mother, she was talented as a seamstress and at all needle work. Her warm, kind personality and intelligence showed through with her successful teaching career. She taught piano lessons and Home Economics; and was also a Girl Scout Troop Leader. Her family will remember her as not only being a loving mother, but a great cook, and kind to children and animals. She was a Charter Member of Sullivan's Island Presbyterian Church (Sunrise). Survivors include daughters, Laura McGuire of Mt. Pleasant, Mercedes (Erich) Faltynski of Mt. Pleasant, Mary Ann (David) Roberts of York, SC and Sally (Bill) Hammersley of Moncks Corner; son, John McGuire, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Corey (Amanda) Roberts, Josephine Kapicka, Jason (Melanie) Roberts, Caroline and Scotty Faltynski; and four great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Juanita Armstrong of Wilmington, NC; and many other loving family members.
